Night dive
Last night we went night diving on the house reef. It was my first night dive, and I was amazed! Seeing all the different organisms that come out at night that are not out during the day was so interesting. All the divers had flashlights to be able to see, and the light attracted all these tiny fish that swarmed us the entire dive feeding on the plankton that the lights were attracting. I saw some crabs and shrimp I have never seen before. We also saw a small octopus and a sleeping pufferfish! Being able to see the reef's vibrant colors without the sun impacting them was beautiful, there were so many vibrant reds that normally cannot be seen. After swimming through the reef for a bit, we all got into a circle formation on the reef floor and faced away from each other, then turned all of our flashlights off. The pure darkness was admittedly a bit overwhelming, but then we started moving around and were able to see the bioluminescence. It was an incredible view!!
